Washington Park District

The park district offers a wide range of parks and facilities including 11 developed parks, three natural areas, a pool, trail system and a Recreation Facility. The park district maintains a total of 260 acres of park property as well as approximately 11 miles of the Washington Recreation Trail and approximately 1.5 miles of natural trails within the parks. The Washington Park Pool is another great feature with three pools including a zero-depth interactive play pool. The pool season runs from the first weekend after Memorial Day through the last weekend before school begins in August. Daily or season passes are available as well as swim lessons and pool rentals.

The park district offers programming for all ages and abilities. Basketball, soccer, lacrosse, tumbling, adult fitness classes, full day pre-k, early childhood programming, cultural arts classes, are some of the programs that the park district offers. The park district offers community wide special events that residents have come to enjoy, such as the Washington Arts Festival, DaxFest, Good Neighbor Days 5K, Daddy Daughter Princess Ball, Mom and Son Night of Fun, Make-it-Take-it Art Night, Easter Bunny Breakfast, Easter Egg Hunt, Breakfast with Santa, Cleanup Washington Day, Washington Night at the Peoria Chiefs, and more. The Washington Park District is also one of the “five” points at Five Points Washington. We use the facilities through a cooperative agreement to host our annual dance and tumbling recital as well as many other special events, swimming programs and basketball and volleyball programs.
